Auriea Harvey’s My Veins Are the Wires, My Body Is Your Keyboard at Museum of the Moving Image presented a landmark survey of Harvey’s career, opening in February.

The exhibition was curated by Regina Harsanyi and explored Harvey’s oeuvre, dating back to her seminal early work in net art in the 1990s. It also included interactive media and digital sculpture, showcasing the depth of the artist’s career. Featuring archival material, interviews and newly commissioned works, the exhibition examined themes of digital materiality, intimacy and technological embodiment. It was accompanied by a publication with contributions from scholars and artists, reflecting on Harvey’s impact on digital and interactive art.

We spoke to Harvey for our Timeline chat on the 1990s.

The show also received extensive critical acclaim and served to introduce thousands to the work of a net art legend.
