Bright Moments in Tokyo and Buenos Aires

In May and November of 2023, Bright Moments continued its global tour with vibrant events in Tokyo and Buenos Aires. In Tokyo, the experience included nightly minting at a skyscraper by Shibuya Crossing, personalized gallery tours in a traditional Japanese house, and a grand reveal at one of the city’s renowned nightclubs. The Le Random team of thefunnyguys and this author, Peter Bauman, spoke at the Tokyo event on ten moments from this very Timeline. The set the stage and context for the artist talks. Buenos Aires followed with equally immersive events, further solidifying Bright Moments' commitment to connecting digital spaces with real-world communities. Le Random’s thefunnyguys and Bauman spoke at this event as well, describing ten moments in generative art history from the South America and the world. These city-wide experiences not only showcased the unique cultural essence of each culturally iconic location but also strengthened the global generative art community through shared, in-person experiences, harkening back to the early-80s computer art community SIGGRAPH nurtured in North America or the similar organization a continent away in Ars Electronica. What made Bright Moments was that it was truly and intentionally a global endeavor.
