CAyC played an important role in the development of Systems art and Conceptual art in Latin America. It was led by Jorge Glusberg from its 1968 founding, as CEAC, until his death in 2012. CAyC was a space for artists to exhibit their work as well as “a multidisciplinary workshop to explore the relationship between art, science and social studies; it positioned itself as a space to generate a new wave of experimental art.” From the Bright Moments Buenos Aires Timeline Poster: Jorge Glusberg established the Centro de Arte y Comunicación (CAyC) in Buenos Aires. CAyC served as a multidisciplinary artist workshop, fostering an innovative space where artists converged to explore the intersection of art, science and communication. The concept of “systems” served as the central framework linking CAyC’s diverse endeavors.
