In March, bitforms gallery in New York presented Code Chronicles, curated by Aleksandra Artamonovskaja now Head of Art at Tezos (Trilitech). This exhibition featured generative artworks by eight pioneering artists, demonstrating the links between on-chain generativity and its code-based predecessors. Artists included LIA, Sara Ludy, Ana Maria Caballero, Maya Man, Helena Sarin, Sarah Ridgley, Sarah Friend and Ivona Tau.

Listen to Le Random’s chat with LIA about beginning her career in the ’90s for our Timeline Ch 7 talk.

The show explored the intersection of digital identity, memory and generative processes, highlighting how these hyper-emerging technologies were impacting digital expression. Each piece emphasized the dynamic relationship between artist and algorithm, reflecting on themes of impermanence and the blurred distinctions between human creativity and machine intelligence. The show demonstrated a thoughtful link between the gallery world and artists exploring on-chain.
