Herbery W. Franke highlighted this survey of computer graphic activities in Japan, noting in 1985 that “the activities of Japanese artists seem to be particularly interesting.” This book is where the term “digital art” appears for possibly the first terms, used by Japanese artist, Yoichiro Kawaguchi. In 2024, Kawaguchi will speak at the Herbert W. Franke Foundation’s Generative Art Summit in Berlin.
