First Assembly Party in Finland

The winning PC demo of the inaugural Assembly Party, Unreal, marked a significant milestone in the demoscene community. Created by Future Crew, the piece highlighted the creators' innovative talents, as Unreal not only won the Assembly Party, but also laid the groundwork for Future Crew’s evolution into Futuremark, a well-known developer of PC benchmark tests such as 3D Mark and PCMark. Furthermore, key members of the Finnish game developer Remedy emerged from the Future Crew team, demonstrating the demoscene’s interconnectedness to the gaming industry, particularly in the Nordic region.
Results from these early demoscene competitions can still be found online and some of the works can still be played on emulators.
