The singular pioneer of generative music, John Cage began to utilize chance in his compositions around this time with “Imaginary Landscape No 4″ and “Music of Changes.” In “Imaginary Landscapes,” twelve radios were played at once with their broadcasts determined by chance and out of Cage’s control.
