Ivan Serpa Founds The Grupo Frente

The Brazilian movement rejected strict adherence to the orthodoxy of purity, science, and math. Grupo Frente was interested in representing organic, nonfigurative forms. They promoted increased creative intuition in geometric abstraction. The movement was instrumental in the development of Concrete Art and geometric abstraction, particularly in Latin America.
