This iconic exhibition featured Concrete art of the last fifty years, an exhibition that by itself could nearly tell the story of this movement to this point in 1960. It featured works by a veritable who’s who of twentieth century abstract art, including Kandinsky, Malevich, Mondrian, Moholy-Nagy and Taeuber-Arp. Perhaps most interesting for our story, one such piece, Effet esthétique de l’inversion des fonctions par la fluctuation de l’attention, appeared at this incredibly prestigious, landmark exhibition by a relatively unkown thirty-six year old Hungarian artist, Vera Molnár.
