Major New Digital Spaces Announced in Canyon, NODE and SOLO CSV

If anything defined 2025 besides vibe coding, it was change. Institutions were responding to how art itself is changing, becoming more dynamic, interactive, world-like, living, intelligent. That means they needed to become all those too—or build new ones that could be. Enter the major new 2025 venue announcements. In Palo Alto, NODE announced the early 2026 opening of a 12,000-square-foot nonprofit hub for code-based, continuously executing work, built for modular presentation and hands-on learning aimed at bringing new audiences into digital culture. It debuted with 10,000, Matt Hall and John Watkinson’s CryptoPunks exhibition. Meanwhile, across the continent in New York, Canyon was revealed: a 40,000-square-foot space dedicated to video, sound, performance and other durational forms also opening in 2026. Finally, in Madrid, Colección SOLO debuted SOLO CSV, a second venue expanding beyond Espacio SOLO, with new media programs through initiatives like Onkaos. To give you an idea, SOLO in Madrid is the largest, followed by Canyon and NODE. However, NODE is a bit of a different model, intending to be the first of many, while SOLO CSV opened in 2025 and Canyon remained under construction. SOLO CSV: 43,056 sq ft ≈ 4,000 m² Canyon: 40,000 sq ft ≈ 3,716 m² NODE: 12,000 sq ft ≈ 1,115 m²
