Bense’s Aesthetica, foundational to computer art history, established the theoretical foundation of computer art. Bense proposed a systematic approach to analyzing the form and structure of art, emphasizing the importance of mathematical and logical principles. Bense’s ideas would later greatly influence his students, Georg Nees and Frieder Nake, as well as the direction of the computer art pioneers’ work.
