Like the light going off after the chronicling of the Greek historian Herodotus around the 5th c. BCE, when the ancient world lost much of its color. So we have the final entry from Copper Giloth and Lynn Pocock-Williams’s epic chronicling of their own of publication, exhibition and technology history of generative art since 1945 from which this Timeline has extensively utilized. 1990 marks the final years covered by Giloth and Pocock-Williams. Here are the final publications of note mentioned: Terry Gips, “Critical Questions for Computer Artists of the 1990's.” Renee LeWinter and Cynthia Baron, “Artistic Challenge.” Fred Ritchin, In Our Own Image: The Coming Revolution in Photography. Dorothy Spencer, “Computer Art-An Oxymoron? Views from the Mainstream.”
