Running Cola is Africa by Computer Technique Group (CTG)

This iconic plotter drawing, exhibited at Cybernetic Serendipity, was created in 1967 and 1968 by CTG at the IBM Scientific Data Centre in Tokyo.
The work is described in the Cybernetic Serendipity catalog as follows: “A computer algorithm converts a running man into a bottle of cola, which in turn is converted into the map of Africa.” Masao Kohmura, CTG co-founder, was credited with the concept.
