Argentine artist Tomás Maldonado and poet Edgar Bayley founded AACI with their 1945 exhibition and manifesto. This movement’s emphasis on geometric abstraction and rejection of representation would go on to influence art in South America while laying the groundwork for a generative art aesthetic.
