Generative Art Summit Berlin

Early July saw a third major European summer digital art event and this was the most spectacular and historic. Organized by Dr. Susanne Paech from the HWF Foundation and held at Akademie der Künste in Berlin, The Generative Art Summit Berlin was a once-in-a-lifetime event. It brought together nearly every living historical pioneer able to travel, including Frieder Nake, Larry Cuba and Joan Truckenbrod.

This author and thefunnyguys were interviewed by Dr. Paech, demonstrating the Summit’s willingness to embrace the new.

It explored generative art’s various faces across decades, from early analog experiments to AI-driven creativity. Hosted by the Foundation Herbert W. Franke, himself a critical figure, the show brought together past and present in a way that may be impossible to achieve again in the future. It was a special week in Berlin.
