A classic of net. art, SHREDDER was a challenge to traditional print metaphors, embracing the web’s digita, data-based nature. potatoland.org transforms web pages into digital confetti, scattering markup, text, and images across the screen in a form of digital Abstract Expressionism. SHREDDER even gained the attention of the NY Times, showcasing how net.art was beginning to go mainstream at the end of the decade.
