Generative Art Timeline · Chapter 10: On-Chain Era (2020s)

Proof of People London

In July, Proof of People (PoP), a Web3 arts festival, debuted in London. PoP was organized by Vertical Crypto Art, a blockchain art curation house founded by Micol Ap. PoP in London and later New York served similar roles during this time as Bright Moments—and earlier SIGGRAPH art shows—bringing a disparate digital art community together in person. For decades, artists and collectors have spoken of the importance of such in-person events.
