Running until the summer of 2022, Rare AF was the original on-chain art event that paved the way for Bright Moments, Proof of People and the variety of other Web3 native art events that now dot the yearly social calendar. In May 2019, finding enough collectors was the real challenge, echoing similar sentiment for 2024, despite a rapid jump in interest in the intervening 5 years. This 2019 iteration was the second and continued the momentum from year, featuring the space’s significant builders; however, the event would prove small until NFTs took off the following years.
