Leicester-based artists Stroud Cornock and Ernest Edmonds, working at Leicester School of Art and Leicester Technical College, recognize the potential of interactive computer-based art. The two begin working together and by 1970 the colleges merged to form Leicester Polytechnic. Leicester Polytechnic would for nearly a decade and a half become one of the most important centers of computer art in Britain and the world.
