In June, Verse, founded by Jamie Gourlay and Augustinas Malinauskas, launched with the goal of bringing order and legitimacy to the chaotic NFT art market. Verse introduced a curated, elevated approach to NFT sales, led by former Tate Britain curator Leyla Fakhr and Creative Director Dr Mimi Nguyen. The platform’s first exhibition, This Is Tomorrow, featured works selected by a panel including Simon Denny and Tyler Hobbs. Verse describes its opening as the beginning of an aim “to encourage the collaboration between artists and curators, and create a space where artists can showcase works that may not have been ownable to collectors before NFTs.” Since its launch, Verse—along with Art Blocks, fxhash and others—helped shape a decade where creatives’ tools and access were expanded like never before.
