Demoscene Splinters into PC and Home Computer

This year represents the beginning of the split in the demoscene community that would coalesce over the next several years, as some practitioners moved to the PC while others stayed on home computers such as the Commodore 64, Amiga and Atari ST. Those who chose the PC mostly used the operating system MS-DOS. According to Dreher [Dreher 162], by 1992, the PC demoscene had become independent from the Amiga demoscene.
