1987
Celestino Soddu, Medieval Towns Generative Variations

Based on the paintings of Simone Martini and other Italian masters, the Italian professor and architect’s project consisted of “typical Italian Medieval Towns” algorithmically and serially generated. The designs were part of Soddu’s longstanding fascination with the “ideal city” and his belief that computers and generativity could augment human creativity.
