This group exhibition, featuring artists such as Nam June Paik and Eric Siegel, saw TV as “the root of the cause of all these changes that [were] transforming our civilization.” This was an important exhibition in the development of video art, which was beginning to boom as video-recording technology was becoming cheaper and smaller, notably the Sony Portapak. The show is notable as one of the first gallery exhibitions given over entirely to television as an artistic medium.
