Refik Anadol's Unsupervised installed at the Museum of Modern Art: a single tall LED wall in the museum's ground-floor lobby churning through a mass of orange and blue machine-generated form, with one visitor standing in silhouette before it and the lobby's benches and steps to either side.

In November, Refik Anadol unveiled Unsupervised at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), a groundbreaking AI-driven installation that reimagines over 200 years of the museum’s collection. Using a machine-learning model trained on MoMA’s publicly available data, Anadol’s work continuously generates new, immersive digital forms, reflecting the museum’s environment in real-time. Unsupervised explores the intersection of technology and creativity, offering viewers a visionary reinterpretation of modern art through a dynamic, ever-changing display. The installation is also tokenized on the blockchain, highlighting the integration of digital art within contemporary museum practices. The following year, the piece would be donated to the museum by 1OF1, led by Ryan Zurrer, with the RFC Collection, in an indication of the museum’s interest in emerging technologies.
